Here at Edelweiss Estates, we make it personal. We do more than provide pet care – we provide Edel pet care. Edel translated means honorable, true, regal, and excellent. In short, we care about your pet just as we care about our own. We believe that a creature needs to be in fresh air, stimulated and moving the way it was designed to. Proper exercise always helps clear their mind and helps with their behavior. Not only are we animal lovers, but we also have the experience to provide the highest quality of services in a very unique, one of a kind location. We know that different breeds and mixes require different things so we can tailor the stay to meet each requirement to make this the best home away from home experience.

Boarding
At Edelweiss Estates we offer more than your normal boarding facility.
First and foremost,each dog will enjoy their own spacious run called their “Resting Home Space”. These runs are cleaned daily with fresh mountain air flowing through them. The runs offer the dogs a comfortable environment where they can stretch their legs, feel safe and enjoy a loft bed or a bed brought with them. They also can have their own comfort items if need be, so they feel at home. Fresh water from our well is given to them to keep them wonderfully hydrated without added chemicals! You can bring your dog’s food along with you that will be given to them as it is at your home so as to keep them “on schedule” if you know what I mean!! Should you need us to provide food? We can discuss "in further detail" on an individual animal basis, an organic meat meal can be provided at an additional cost and per market cost.
Another critical business value we have here at Edelweiss Estates is that we live here.
This means FREEDOM! The dogs do not get kept in their home space all day and do not get stuck in that space at closing time of 5 pm. They go on runs/walks through our fields to play catch, sniff, skip, etc. We also have a hiking area through the woods and around our fields that offers them another stimulating environment that they just love. If your dog has off leash training (please see training availabilities if needed), then they also go on bike rides and longer hikes in the area. We also have multiple dog play areas with some baby pools (weather permitting) and agility courses for off leash fun time. If weather is bad, they can romp in our spacious covered area with our kennel supervisor and toys. As the day dwindles and the tired babies want to sleep, they are left out again, so they don’t have to hold it in for extended hours and then tucked in for a good nights sleep! Smooches are free!!!

On top of the clear mountain air exercise, we need to remember a dog’s nose is one of the biggest things to their stimulation.Happy nose, happy Wag. So we find it in the mountains!!! The dogs atEdelweiss Estate enjoyand love all the new wonderful smells. Off the beaten path where we reside, the dogs enjoy all the wildlife smells the forest brings! We also have livestock forever pets that make this place the cool place that it is, that brings a whole other level of stimulation for the dogs. The dogs outdoor large play space is beside the sheeps’ field space where they love to watch them graze. I love watching the dogs see them for the first time. It is so neat! Mr. Ducky walks around as well as chickens to make it that much more of a captivating arena. They will see the horse and donkey on their walks through the field and see/smell many other wild game.

Transportation
We do offer pick up and drop off options to a very wide radius. We weekly travel down 68 through on 70 to various locations, so we are always willing to work with you to get the pets safely to our site for their vacation! Just call us with details and we will gladly work with you to coordinate.
Camping
Edelweiss Estates is a privately owned property of over 70 acres, located by many state parks in MD, Wisp ski Resort, Deep Creek Lake and the Alleghany Bike trail to name a few. Map our location here to see all the fun stuff you can do:
Camp sites are organic in the sense that there is not water, utilities or septic on site. And there is always a chance for snakes and bears! Yay! The benefit is that you can bring your animal with you and we can watch them during the day while you go play under our “Day Care” category. Again implemented and priced to your need.

Don’t think that we dismiss our Felines! Here at Edelweiss Estates, we embrace and love these fur babies as well! They are not kept with the dogs and have their own space where they are taken care of and loved as well. As unique as our K9s, they have a play separate space to stretch their legs and have ever needed sself-grooming area where they can achieve their cherished alone time. Meow!

One of our goals here at Edelweiss Estates is to have your furry family member be able to also have the ability to run free on our daily walks and outside activities. Contact us for further details regarding our off leash recall training packages.
Our Kennel Supervisor is an amazing retired K9 officer. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and ability for even the toughest dogs. He has befriended and trained some of the most aggressive dogs and handles them with the upmost respect and care. He has also trained the most petite and fragile pups. So if you have an issue that would make your life easier for you and your pet, please reach out and have a conversation with us so we can help.

Should you be leaving this world by sickness or age OR want to be at peace for when that time comes possibly unexpectantly, for your four-legged family members………. we can help. Through an in depth discussion and planning we can develop a precious life plan for your beloved family pets to carry on when your gone here at Edelweiss Estates. We can design their own new pet home built on site, furnished with your furniture and rotate your items so they always still have your scent around comforting them in your absence. They will receive the best care and love available aside from you, until their peaceful passing as well. Please call to talk in greater detail so we can formulate a plan with an estate attorney for you to attain this peace. For it is the Edel home that they deserve and you CAN give it to them here, before your new journey begins………..
